Oh Jillian, how I love to hate her. Today I finished day 5 of level 1 and I will take a 2 day off break for the weekend and will be back to it to finish the next 5 days of level 1 next week.
I have a wonderful group of ladies that are totally supporting encouraging and forcing each other to keep shredding. It’s great motivation knowing that I will have to answer to them if I skip shredding because I am too lazy tired.
Not going to lie the first few days I was sore, my quads were killing me, getting up and down from the toilet was the worst. I dreaded having to pee. Which I do just about every 2-3 hours from all the water I am drinking.
Having done the whole 30 days shred now 4 times, I can tell a few differences in my body. Though I was sore, I wasn’t nearly as sore as the first go round. The first time the soreness was in my calves. This time I am not sore in my calves at all, I can’t figure out why that would be. It’s literally been over 1 year since I last shredded. Is there such a thing as muscles memory? Like my muscles remembered this and thus-ly didn’t get as sore? Who knows, but it’s an awesome feeling to be sore and know your body is changing for the better.
I even got DT to do the shred with me today, he made it through the first 2 levels then wimped out. He hated the crunches (which are my favorite because I am laying on the ground)but at least he now has a better appreciation the all the pain work I put myself through.
If anyone else would like to join in, please let me know. We even started a 30 day shred facebook page.
If you’re not familiar with the Jillian Michael’s 30 day shred video, and to read more about my experience.
